The Postgraduate Programme in Wine Tourism is promoted by the School of Hospitality and Tourism of P.PORTO. As far as the Programme syllabus and organisation are concerned, there is also a close cooperation with the Entidade Regional do Turismo do Porto e Norte (Porto and North of Portugal Tourism Regional Authority) and AHRESP. As Tourism and Wine is one of the fastest growing economic sectors, it is crucial to train highly competent and specialised professionals. Apart from training future professionals in the area, the programme also aims at the qualification of those already working in the sector, so that they may ensure the continuous and sustainable improvement of Wine Tourism. The specificity of wine tourism units and of grasping the importance of experience tourism and human resources as a strategic business factor makes the qualification of wine tourism professionals crucial when promoting the wine-growing territories/wine tourism destinations, qualifying the offer of products and services, empowering the agents and enhancing cross-selling between Wine and Tourism.
